    The Superintendent's Early Childhood Plan

Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska

The Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska is partnering with eleven Metro Omaha school districts to implement the Superintendents' Early Childhood Plan.

This is a comprehensive plan to advance birth through grade 3 practices and systems of services for young children and their families, with a specific goal of increasing access and quality of services for young children placed at risk.

The most intensive component of these efforts is the implementation of the “School as Hub for Birth through Grade 3” approach in twelve elementary schools. This approach integrates a birth-to-age-three home visiting program, high quality preschool, and aligned, developmentally informed PreK – grade 3. Family partnerships and supports provide continuity across the full birth – grade 3 continuum.
